Kolby (he/him) is a first year Master's student at New York University studying Vocal Performance: Musical Theatre with Dr. Justin John Moniz, in addition to working on his Advanced Post-Master's Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy. Most recently, Kolby made his NYC debut as the titular role in Sweeney Todd at NYU. Other performance opportunities at NYU have included a concert reading of Parade (Leo Frank) conducted by Ted Sperling. Originally a student of the classical canon, previous roles have included Guglielmo and Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Figaro and Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro), Frank (Die Fledermaus), Leporello (Don Giovanni), King Balthazar (Amahl and the Night Visitors), and Marco (Gianni Schicchi). Kolby has previously been a Young Artist at Opera Roanoke, Opera in the Ozarks, Ohio Light Opera, and Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, under the baton and direction of such visionaries as Steven White, Elena Shadow, Valerie Rachelle, Dean Anthony, and Jacob Allen. A hybrid performer, Kolby has also been an active professional in the musical theatre canon with such companies as Wolfbane Productions and Brian-Clowdus Experiences. Moreover, Kolby was a National Semi-Finalist in Luke Frazier's APO NextGen Competition and was also a recipient of an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition Kentucky District.
